Winning Video Interviews Who Are You Talking To
Winning Video Interviews Who Are You Talking To Last year I did my first video interview. I used the Hireview video interview software, which is cool because I know the founders, and they are a local company. The irony? I was interviewing for a job at Hireview! I was using their own software to hire for a job to be on their team. When I went in for the panel interview (to be followed by an interview with the VP of Product) one of the interviewees (I was in a room full of product managers) said something like: Jason, you were the only one who talked to Ricky by name. It was the thing that made me stand out. I was the only one who did it. Nice job Jason! Video interviews are not as personal as a face-to-face in-the-same-room interview. It is weird to talk into a camera/mic and get no reaction the first time you do it youll feel weird! It doesnt help that you get a question and then you have a certain amount of seconds to answer your question, and if you go over you have messed up. Yes, you get to do it again but after the third or fourth time answering (and trying to cram the right answer into a few seconds!) you are mentally taxed. Its a crazy experience. I researched the job and the company, and found out who the hiring manager was: Ricky. It was actually Ricky who presented the questions (in video, of course). So, in my responses I would say Well, Ricky, or Thats a good question, Ricky. Every answer I gave was addressed to Ricky. The cool thing was that took the impersonal out of my video interview. And it made me memorable. What are YOU doing to make yourself memorable? Winning Video Interviews Who Are You Talking To Last year I did my first video interview. Why you should never complain about your company
Why you should never complain about your company I am trying to figure out what is the right kind of guy for me to be dating now that Im getting a divorce. As an incorrigible go-getter with all things I do I am getting a jump start on dating. So if its offensive to you that Im dating before Im divorced, you should probably stop reading. But I want to warn you that you are probably from the same contingent of people who do not approve of looking for a job from your current job, and Ive got news for you: Everyones doing it. Both. At first I thought I should be dating people who are recently divorced. You know, shared experience. So I went out with this guy who was married for sixteen months, and his wife is getting about three million dollars in the settlement. Of course he is very upset about the whole thing. But mostly because he thinks shes crazy. My alarms go off immediately. I think he might be crazy. Because, as my divorce lawyer says, A ten never marries a one. Which is to say that you get what you are. I ask my date why hes so upset that shes getting three million. Because, after all, he earned way more than that while he was with her. (Yes, true.) He says that she is a raving alcoholic and he didnt know that when he married her. Then he orders his second Jack and Ginger. I have had so few drinks in my life that I dont even know what Jack and Ginger is. But heres what happens: We go out on one date, and I drink. It only takes me about a half a glass of wine to be way more easy-going and flirty than I could ever manage if I were sober. And he asks me out again. On the next date, he has four beers and I dont drink, and it is obvious to me that things are not going well. And it is also obvious to me that he will marry another alcoholic. He likes that in a girl. But he still complains that he cant believe he married someone who is so unstable. I cant believe he doesnt see what marrying that person says about him. I do not tell him that people who have four drinks on every date marry alcoholics. I do tell him, A ten does not marry a one. The wisdom falls on dead ears. But I know this is true because after our marriage counseling ended up in our divorce, I went back to the marriage counselor to understand why I chose my husband in the first place. Really, all the things I loved about my husband when we got married are still there. I just need to understand why, of all the things I could love in a person, I picked those to marry. There are millions of reasons to marry someone, really, like that the person is a genius (my husband) or that the person is fun when drunk (definitely not my husband). Its easy to judge other people for what they pick. But to be honest, all reasons have their pluses and minuses and wed do best just to understand why we do what we do. My friend married a woman because she had little world experience and he could show her what he knew. Lame, right? But the marriage is working. And another friend married someone because hes the male version of Mother Theresa. Great, right? But the marriage fell apart because in the end, she wanted someone to pay attention to her, not save the world. So I try to not complain about my husband because theres a lot that is good about him. I try instead to focus on how to be better at understanding myself. Because who you pick to be around says a lot about who you are. And this is true for a lot of areas in life. Like, look at your friends. Good-looking people hang out with good-looking people. And who you hang out with is so influential on you that fat friends make you fat. Its true at work, too. A former boss used to tell me that you should always hire A players because one B player brings everyone down teams perform to their lowest performer. I think thats true. I also think that when an A sees a B on the team, the A doesnt want to come. So if you are complaining that you are in an office with people who are terrible at what they do, ask yourself why. And instead of broadcasting that you chose to be with terrible people, do some self-reflection and figure out why, so you dont do it again. Its very hard to avoid duplicating the same mistake over and over again thats why most second marriages fail, and thats why people who work at lame companies generally make their next move to another lame company. But if you are really honest about your own responsibility for choosing lameness, then you are less likely to choose it again. Now, if I can only get as good at choosing dates as I am at choosing companies

5+ Best Dental Hygienist Interview Questions Answers - Algrim.co
5+ Best Dental Hygienist Interview Questions Answers - Algrim.co Looking for dental hygienist interview questions? We’ve complied the absolute best interview questions and answers to help you with your upcoming interview with a dental office. What is the role of a dental hygienist In general, a dental hygienist is like an assistant to a dentist. They are there to help perform routine tasks like filling cavities, doing x-rays, assisting in procedures and performing dental cleanings. The most important job is to help with the procedures. Without that assistance the dentist may not be able to perform their procedures properly and could harm the patient. Dental hygienist interview questions & answers 1. Do you know the names of all of the dental equipment? Yes. I would be happy to go through a mock session where you ask me for certain dental tools and see that I can properly identify each one, in their various sizes and give them to you in a timely manner. 2. How would you handle someone with gum disease who is getting a cleaning? Someone with gum disease is going to feel a lot of pain while getting a teeth cleaning, which is not normal. So we need to make sure we adjust our cleaning for the pain that the patient could feel. They may need some low levels of novocaine throughout their gums in order to feel as little pain as possible. They will also feel pain after the cleaning, which isn’t normal but we need to prepare them for that. 3. What is the first rule you must follow before taking an x-ray? The first rule is looking after the patient and their safety. That means they must wear all safety equipment before an x-ray is taken. This includes a vest, sometimes eyewear and be sure that no cell phones or jewelry are being worn that could impact the machine. 4. What is the general process for filling a cavity? The general process for removing and filling a cavity is to first penetrate the area of the tooth where the cavity exists, remove any decay that may exist with our drills and then to fill the cavity with resin or whatever the preferred method of tooth filling is used by the practice. 5. How do you recommend oral health? It depends on the patient, their age and the status of their teeth. Generally speaking, we should be educating everyone on the benefits of flossing and how flossing can be far more beneficial than regular brushing. We should educate our patients on proper brushing techniques as well, so they don’t damage their teeth while brushing, if they are brushing too hard. Goliath Google vs. Facebook Mark Google Loses the Battle - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career
Goliath Google vs. Facebook Mark Google Loses the Battle - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career Social media’s space has become so crowded that CNBC now has a Social Media stock analyst whose entire specialty are the social media stocks. Groupon, LinkedIn, Google and the closely watched upcoming Facebook IPO including commentary on its pre-IPO private market performance. Goliath Google launches + Google launched it’s own social network, Google+, in July 2011 hoping to compete with wide-eyed 27-year old Mark Zuckerberg’s dominant Facebook. How’s the Goliath’s social network done? It’s proven that sometimes the old legend of David and Goliath still holds true. Google+ has declined for 5 consecutive months in referral traffic despite it’s 260MM Gmail users, and has seen its share of referral traffic drop by 82% since launching. Right now it’s looking more like Google- than Google+ yet I give them credit for staying the course with their vision. Charlie Bit My Finger Charlie’s brother became a YouTube star when nearly 28MM visitors watched Charlie bite his finger via YouTube. Did someone at Google forget they own the social network powerhouse that is ranked #3 in the world and has nearly 3MM sites referring traffic to it? YouTube, which Google bought in ’06 for $1.65B, has 33% of the global internet traffic market share, daily. Did they really need to reinvent the entire wheel rather than simply leverage this asset and integrate new features? Facebook’s unstoppable force The dominant source of referral traffic, 1000 times more referrals than Google+ (wow, talk about competition). The #1 site in the world. New applications installed 20MM times each day. 800MM users each month and from every country imaginable. Besides kicking every other social media platforms toukas, Facebook’s simply the best and the most fun. Why? It’s where your friends, family and old schoolmates are at and it’s where the new fun, creative games and applications can be found. It’s easy to use and fun to check in with whether you’re on your phone, iPad or computer. Can Facebook’s dominance be stopped? We have yet to see a true competitor that can match it but until they arrive, this is one place that you want your brand to dominate in your industry. Social brand power Personal brand or business brand, these networks and their users have tremendous influence and power. Where do you spend your time? On the network with the most influence of course and that’s Facebook. The other networks lag far behind yet coming in second is StumbleUpon, YouTube and LinkedIn. Professionals, go to LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Business owners and leaders, hit up Facebook, YouTube and Twitter along with integrating blogs. Both groups can think of YouTube as your Google integration since Google+ is more of a minus for now. The Different Types Of Gamers
The Different Types Of Gamers With the continual growth of the industry year on year, gaming has become so accessible to everyone than even mums, dads and grandparents are now using their phones to play Candy Crush or Clash of Clans. But what do the types of games we play say about us? Well let’s have a look at the main personality types: The active go-getter These are the people you will see hanging around the Dance Dance Revolution machine in the arcade. They demand the most stimulation from the games they play, be this physical or even mental. They are ambitious, energetic and have immaculate timing. The dreamer These are the people who pay close attention to the story line. You’ll often find them playing RPG’s with a solid storyline or any fantasy game. They tend to be very emotional and they will cry if their favourite character dies half way into the game. They also tend to get lost in these games and can go off the grid for days because they’ve mistaken the game for real life. The competitive one The competitive ones are the people you’ll find at a party screaming at the TV as they frantically mash buttons when you were only trying to have a friendly game of Super Smash Brothers. They tend to play games where they can easily win, like fighting games. They tend to be loud, passionate and slightly hot-headed. The social butterfly These are the type of gamers that play online games. Games that don’t necessarily have an ending, like World of Warcraft. They usually have a big group of friends online which they chat too using a headset and like to play these games just to socialise with their group. They are usually talkative, smart and loyal. The casual These are the type of people who don’t want to commit to any games. They dip in and out of playing a variety of games, rarely ever completing them. They tend to play for fun for a few hours on the weekend instead of putting aside a whole day to game. These are the kind of people who are usually fairly busy, with other responsibilities. They are fun, popular but also usually very lazy when they have down time as they feel it is deserved. The popular one These are the people that deny they play games in the first place. They think gaming in all forms is ‘lame’. These people tend to be sporty and like going out on weekends with the lads or the girls to get drunk. You can sometimes catch them playing Call of Duty or Halo on very odd occasions. They are usually the kind of people you’ll hear shouting ‘banter’ and ‘yolo’ on a night out. The big boom theory How millennial parents will change the workplace
The big boom theory How millennial parents will change the workplace According to experts, millennials, the generation described as collaborative, open-minded nonconformists, are now having children of their own and launching America’s next baby boom. Results of a 2013 study conducted by the ad agency Barkley found millennial parents accounted for 80 percent of the 4 million annual births in this country. Furthermore, as the largest living generation to date in the United States at 83.1 million strong, the number of new millennial families is expected to grow exponentially over the next 10 years. The wave of millennial births will affect everything from health care and transportation to social services and the workplace. Having a large percentage of parents on the payroll will significantly impact American businesses. Right now, companies are debating the most effective strategies for recruiting talented millennial job candidates. However, American businesses should continue to invest in strategies to retain top performers, as many are becoming or are about to become parents. For instance, a robust maternity leave program will likely be high on the priority lists of many new and existing employees. Consider paid leave The U.S. Department of Labor reports only 12 percent of private-sector workers currently have access to paid maternity leave to care for a newborn. In comparison, countries such as Austria, Belgium, Norway, Spain, and Turkey offer anywhere from 15 to 20 weeks of paid maternity leave. “One of the best things a company can do when creating a maternity leave policy is proactive market research,†said Ramona Bilgram, manager of human resource (HR) services with Insperity, a provider of HR services and business performance solutions. “Knowing what similar companies offer can help businesses formulate a competitive plan to recruit and, more importantly, retain top talent.†Because millennials make up the majority of America’s workforce today, companies could face a situation where several employees need to take maternity leave concurrently. If this is the case, businesses might also want to consider hiring temporary employees as needed. Address work hours According to a recent PricewaterhouseCoopers survey, 19 percent of millennials surveyed said flexible working hours are the most important and valued benefit a company can offer. Furthermore, as millennials move into managerial roles and assume new and increased responsibilities that must be juggled with family commitments, employers should consider offering â€" if they don’t already â€" a flexible work environment in order to appeal to and accommodate this generation. “A CareerBuilder survey found that 40 percent of workers named half-day Fridays as the extra perk that would make their workplace more satisfying,†said Bilgram. “Flexible work schedules can help new parents take care of their priorities at home without compromising their responsibilities in the workplace. Now is a good time for companies to revisit the strength of their telecommuting technology and associated policies.†Other considerations The upcoming boom might affect companies in several other ways. For instance, if a business holds an annual employees-only holiday party, they might consider hosting family-friendly events instead. While happy hours are a great time for employees to bond, many parents have family obligations after work that could keep them from participating and make them feel left out. Some companies have also determined that a paid time off (PTO) program, which combines sick days and vacation time, better fits the needs of today’s employees. “PTO gives employees more flexibility and control over managing their time,†said Bilgram. “It also solves the problem of employees carrying over a large number of sick days from year to year.†In summary, the next baby boom will impact companies in many ways. Businesses that plan ahead and evolve to fit the needs of a changing workforce will be better equipped to hire and retain top talent. A little planning now can pay big dividends down the road.

Insurance Resume Writing Services - How An Insurance Resume Writing Service Can Help
Insurance Resume Writing Services - How An Insurance Resume Writing Service Can HelpInsurance Resume Writing Services are ideal for those looking to bolster their chances of getting a good job. Without one, you may have a tough time finding an agency that is willing to write your resume for you. Yet if you are interested in the process, and how the market works, then I suggest you keep reading. To understand this issue better, think about how it would be for big firms to recruit employees. There are too many companies and too many applications for them to even get through the screening process. They have too many people applying to fill too many positions. It takes so long to get through all the applications, that many of the job applicants just don't get through to the top of the pile. However, it is the smaller, more specialized, or insurance sales force that needs the help of an agency to make their process faster and more efficient. If you are involved in the field, or know someone who is, you know how important this can be to your career. Without such a service, you will simply be left out in the cold. You can never underestimate the value of having a good insurance sales agent on your side. You will not only save yourself the time it takes to fill out multiple applications yourself, but you will also save yourself the cost of recruitment fees. If you are going to be in the market for a job anyway, why not consider outsourcing your resume writing services.Just about every big insurance company has at least one employee whose job is to recruit new agents and staff members for the insurance sales force. That means you could find a large, well-established insurance company that could use your expertise to fill your vacancy. In this case, the agency may pay you up front or at a rate that will be relatively lower than you would get otherwise. What does this mean for you as an applicant? Well, you could still complete your own resume, even though that is very likely to do no good for you in the competitive world of insurance sales. The resume you may produce will probably be viewed by the hiring manager in the same light as the resumes of applicants who filled out an application and were not even considered. The one thing that you must be able to offer when you are in the market for a job in the insurance sales force is experience. If you don't have any, then you may need the assistance of an agency to help you with your resume. That is why I suggest that you consider outsourcing your resume writing services. You will still be able to get in touch with some of the top insurance companies, but you won't have to get your resume and cover letter all done by yourself. Instead, you will simply get a professional to look over your resume and/or cover letter and present you with two different options for you to choose from.
